Stop already! I’m at work and for some reason they won’t let me practice here.
Great set as always Kenny.
How much does your entire course cost to download?
What is that in British pounds?
Is the download course in some sort of order, i.e. you advise where to start and say which element needs to be looked at next, i.e. a structured approach.
Does it come with downloadable books?
Thank you
Graham
Wow! Great instructons presented in a really great manner. The only thing else I would like is Tab of the things being taught. Being new at the guitar, I have a hard time following your fingers, even slow to you can be quick to others.
Otherwise if I could be promised the lessons were tabbed out and it is all in the same format you have these samples I would be thinking a lot more about getting this course.
I am somewhere very close to getting to the Advanced level. Being retired I have plenty of time to learn and most of my day is set around trying to get my playing smoother and quicker.
Thanks, I am with an instructor once a week. Have tried to get more time with him but he is very busy and very much in demand in this area.
Thanks for the samples. I think the Cord progression and Bar code lessons will help me out tremendously. You have presented it like no other has, so simple yet very smooth.
Thanks Again, Gene Knights
From Kenny:
The course is $49.95 USD. The course is arranged in order of difficulty from easiest to most advanced. The lessons are presented by subject. So you can follow them step by step from start to finish is you are a beginner, while more advanced players can skip around to whatever section interests them. Beginners should start with the first 2 DVDs Fundamentals 1-2. They cover open chords, bar chords, chord groups, rhythm and strumming and chord connections.
More advanced players will want to start with DVD 1 which covers chord progressions in depth. For Lead Players start with DVD 2-4 then go to master session Pentatonic Master Scale System, Master Session DAE System and Modes.
thanks kenny, i really like the way you tend to simplify some concepts that seem more complicated, like the concept of modes. a couple of questions though….this is going to sound dumb, but when you talk about positions, you usually refer to them as numberes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6. i am so used to referring to them as just simply 1,2,3,4,5. am i missing something…why do you use that numbering system? are the examples in your course provided with tabs? i am thinking about purchasing your downloadable version.
thanks again.
Each of the 5 Master Scale Shapes begin on a different note of the major scale. The names 1 2 3 5 6 are named after the note that each shape begins on from the major scale. This enables you to clearly see that each shape has a major name and a minor name. The major name comes from the 1 while the minor name comes from the 6. The 1 is the first note of the major scale so it gives us the major name. The 6th note of the major scale gives us the minor name, because the 6th note of the major scale is the first note of the minor scale. That’s the long explanation, the bottom line is using the names 1 2 3 5 6 makes it much easier to understand the function of the 5 master scale shapes over different types of chords. The traditional way of numbering those scale shapes is 1 2 3 4 5 and only refers to the order of the shapes but does not have any reference to the scale degrees that make up the scale.
Does the course come with the lessons in tab
There are no tabs because they are not appropriate for the material being taught but there are 400 pages of Fretboard Diagrams demonstrating everything I play on the videos. They are professionally drawn illustrations that make it very easy to understand exactly what to play. The layout is designed so you can see everything on the page without having to scroll up or down on your computer. They also print very nicely on standard size paper.
Thanks. I was so impressed by your 12 week course, I took it as an invitation to dive in the deep end. I bought the complete course. $50?????? I would be crazy not to!!!!!!!!! I have played many years and play at as many churches as I can every week. It downloaded just fine.
Awesome Kenny! I’ve learned so much from your site. I never thought my old Gibson – Roland guitar could sound so good, with the right fingering and theory. Your right hand does move just a little too fast, on the DVD’s is this a little easier to see?
Next month I will have a few extra bucks and will certainly purchase your expertise.
Thanks
